About The Program
Spellbound's lessons begin with simple, consistent rules and move to those that are more difficult. By an inductive process students use their own observations to confirm the spelling rules they learn. Mnemonic devices and "best guess" strategies help them cope with alternative choices and exceptions. Each portion of the text is followed by exercises, oral and written, for drill and kinesthetic reinforcement.
The Spell of Words covers syllabication, word building with prefixes, phonograms, word patterns, suffixes, plurals, and possessives. Chapters contain explanations of spelling rules, exercises, and suggestions for short compositions.
