Title IA: SES

This program provides financial assistance to LEAs and schools with high numbers or high percentages of low income children to help ensure that all children meet state academic standards. Federal funds are currently allocated through four statutory formulas that are based primarily on census poverty estimates and the cost of education in each state.

Striving Readers

Striving Readers aims to raise middle and high school students' literacy levels in Title I-eligible schools with significant numbers of students reading below grade-levels. As well as building a strong, scientific research base for strategies that improve adolescent literacy instruction.

Vocabulary from Classical Roots

Title IIA

This program is designed to increase academic achievement by improving teacher and principal quality. This is accomplished through increasing the numbers of highly qualified teachers in the classroom, increasing the number of highly qualified principals, and increasing the effectiveness of teachers and principals by holding LEAs and schools accountable for improvements in student achievement.

Title III

This program is designed to ensure that children who are limited English proficient, including immigrant children and youth, attain English proficiency, develop high levels of academic attainment in English, and meet the same challenging State academic content and student academic achievement standards as all children are expected to meet.

IDEA Part B

Part B of the IDEA provides funds to state educational agencies (SEAs) andthrough them to local educational agencies (LEAs) to help them ensure that children with disabilities, including children aged three through five, have access to a free and appropriate public education to meet each child’s unique needs and prepare each child for further education, employment, and independent living.
